[Sca-cooks] quince apple

How cool to have them available this time of year as well.  Where
approximately do you live, and are the quinces grown locally?  Sorry to be
so nosy, but I did a lot of work with quinces at Colonial Williamsburg and
would like to use them more often than just winter.
For a glaze, an easy one would be to make thin quince preseves/jelly.
