A little Googling turns up the following info:

Kai is the Japanese company that makes them.  Kershaw is the U.S. (and
Eurpoean?) importer/distributor for the Shun line.  The same knives are also
apparently imported under the name Kasumi by the same guys who import the
Global line.

The Shun Classic knives use cladding to achieve the pseudo-Damascus look.
The Shun Pro line are folded, don't have the Damascus look, and have the
traditional Japanese hollow-ground chisel edge.

>From the numbers on them, the weight and balance seem to be somewhere
between the typical super-light Japanese-made knives like Global and the
big, heavy Solingen blades.
