I'm not... I'll be leaving in a couple hours for the 8-hour drive to
Sandy Eggo (San Diego, for those not familiar with the Grrrrrrrreat
State of California). And my brother's mother-in-law is doing
Thanksgiving this year (well, her Mexican maid does most, if not all,
of the cooking).

Since my brother's wife and m-in-l just play with their food, he has
two sons under the age of 10, and my brother says that he doesn't
really like food (he eats like a normal person, but his wife looks
unhealthily thin and she's been losing weight the past couple years),
there's not much point in bringing anything special.

BTW, if you're in California, note that See's Candy which is quite
good - REAL fruit in all their fruit things and it's all fresh (not
stale like that nasty Whitman's Sampler cr*p) - has *Pumpkin
Truffles* this season. I ate one and they're pretty good, made with
real pumpkin and a nice selection of spices. They also have mincemeat
truffles (the fruit and nut kind, no beef suet) and some other
holiday flavors. I like the Key Lime Truffles, too. They do mail
order.

Yeah, yeah, pumpkin truffles are not part of the Atkins Diet, but i'm
taking a break this week - although I will eat sensibly at
Thanksgiving without much difficulty (canned sweet potato casserole
with marshmallow, yuck!)
