I recall hearing on the news recently that concerned corporations are 
trying to get the US government to prevent food producers labeling 
foods as non-GMO (genetically modified organism). However, i'm not 
turning up info in Google, so maybe i misheard.

I do know the US government is pressuring the EU to stop labeling 
foods that are GE (genetically engineered) - this because in 
shipments from the US GMO and non-GMO foods are mixed together (corn, 
soy, etc.), and if the shipment is more than 1 per cent GMO, it will 
be labeled as GE. Rather than keep the stuff separate, US corps want 
the governments in the EU to change their laws.
