The only thing I can think of that fits this idea of the modern 
valentine candy would be sugar paste, which is included in the last 
file I mentioned previously:

I think the result with sugar paste is closer to the valentine candy 
than say marzipan because the proportion of sugar is higher.

Possibly sugar icing, but that is a different use and probably not so 
solid.

Well, sugar itself was thought to have "medicinal" properties. Often 
thought of as the perfect food.
