I can find pear butter and preserves in my local
grocery stores and also at local farmers markets
and roadside fruit stands. However, they are
usually very pricey. I cannot believe that
something so basic can't be found in your area.
I would believe, however, that they just don't
want to pay $6-$8 for a small jar. I just looked
on the web and pear butter and preserves are
available for sale, again very pricey.

I have made pear butter, but not preserves. It
isn't difficult to make, just hot and time
consuming.
