[Sca-cooks] pies or tarts made with eggs & sugar

yes, I know pecans aren't period, but the transparent
pies mentioned (if you leave the nuts out and use
brandy or bourbon you also have another transparent
pie)must have some provenence?   ...and you can use
walnuts too.

Anyone have any earlier, possibly period examples of
this kind of pie, using eggs & sugar, maybe honey...
