I think the usual answer here to that question has been that it will
depend upon whether a particular time or place is among your interests,
whether you want the authors redactions or just a reprint of the period
recipe etc.

Well, I have quite a few good cookbooks already (from both of the above categories) .... mostly, I was just wondering what might have come out in the last year or two that I missed because I just wasn't looking at the fun toys I couldn't afford to buy (last year's Christmas money, as I recall, went to buy two new tires ... <sigh>).

Yes, this sounds like a great find. We've discussed kitchen knife care
here on several occasions. I just checked and I've not turned that info
into a file yet. If you are interested, let me know and I'll send you
my rough notes or create and get the file online.

I think that would be a cool thing. Another thing I'd like to be able to invest in this year are a couple of period-style knives (Marged's husband makes some mighty nice ones), and I know I can't treat them the same way I do my Henkels and the "new" Wusthof.

Uh? Isn't getting a nice bread knife a bit counter-productive for a
low-carb diet? :-)

Ah, but you see, I'm married to a breaditarian....

Besides ... the bread knife seems to do a great job on tomatoes and eggplant, too! ;)
