I was speaking of the risk of adding an unexpected taste.  
... also why plastic bottles should not be reused for 
cordials.

As I understand it, plastic soda bottles are made from at 
least 3 layers of different plastics.  Yes, the innermost 
layer would be food grade -- but what about the outer 
layer when the bottle is used for cooling?
