Sometime back there was a notice posted on a
PBS Colonial House series that was looking for volunteers.

Here's some more information from Plimoth Plantation.

New Reality Series Explores Colonial Life!

During much of 2003, Plimoth Plantation was involved in helping bring to
life the colony featured on the PBS television series Colonial House.
Produced by the creators of The 1900 House,Frontier House, and Manor House,
(Thirteen/WNET New York and Wall To Wall Television in association with
Channel 4 (U.K.)
the setting for this new hands-on history series is the Eastern
seaboard, 1628.
The eight-part series will premiere nationally May 17, 18, 24 and 25,
2004 starting at 8pm each night on PBS.
Behind the scenes, Plimoth Plantation staff built timber-framed houses
for the
colony on location in Maine, made furnishings (including pottery,
furniture and household textiles),
salted 1500 pounds of meat, organized provisions and household necessities,
and provided expertise in answering literally hundreds of questions
about the details of colonial life circa 1628. Museum staff also provided
training for the 26 new “colonists” who lived 17th-century lives for
five months.
For two weeks, these eager colonists trained in everything from
starting a fire with flint and steel to hewing a timber for building to
making an appetizing dinner with dried and salted foods.
Watch for Plimoth Plantation events and activities related to the series
that are in the works.
Make sure to check the calendar on our Web site often!
