Except that "Jerry Built" ( shoddy/makeshift ) probably derives from "Jury Rig" or "jury mast", which is a makeshift rigging or masting used to replace a part of the ships rig lost to some damage, so the ship can function before it can put into a shipyard for repairs. 
"Jury" probably refers to "injury", realting to the damage it is patching, not to concepts of Jurisprudence.  

"Jury mast" dates to about 1616 for its first recorded instance.
"Jury rudder" and "jury rig" are used somewhat thereafter.
