In my earlier days, I ran an "accounting machine" for the Directors
Guild, just before they computerized. Much like a keypunch, which I had
learned the year before in a computer class. I learned to type on
manual too.
Why do we compete for 'who feels the most old'? Whomever wins, loses. :-(
