Amazon is selling the DVD for $21.23
Empires - The Medici, Godfathers of the Renaissance.

If you check the PBS store, they are backordered for the video
version but can ship the DVD for $24.98. 240 minutes on one disc.

I suspect that your station is making up the price with a donation
to support the local programming. That's one reason it's running
3 hours in certain areas. There's an hour of begging being included.
