Yep, still down. :-(
I talked to my friend, who hosts the site, Sunday night and he was
going to look at it on Monday morning. Part of the problem is that the
server is physically about 90 minutes south of him. He is getting ready
to move it to a new site only a few miles away and upgrade the server.
Unfortunately, the communication line will drop from a T3 line to a
pair of T1s. Considering the other websites on the server, the
Florilegium is the main user of that bandwidth. To the non-computer
professionals out there, that means we will be moving from a big pipe
to a pair of smaller ones. The server is old (in computer terms) and
the software needs to be upgraded. Something is keeping him from
logging into the machine from home, among other things.

This is the longest time that the Florilegium has been down. I couldn't
reach my friend tonight to get an update, but being a computer
programmer he may have been off working on the problem.

I did recently hear on the Rialto an idea about setting up a PayPal
account and letting people make donations to a website using this. I am
considering doing this since it would allow a way to collect some money
to defray the costs of the website without being too intrusive or using
advertising or going to a paid membership only format. It is possible
that with money coming in such downtimes as is happening right now
could be reduced.

In the meantime, if anyone wants any of the files from the Florilegium,
please feel free to email me and I will send copies to you by email.
Please do tell me if you want the files in text, RTF or HTML format.
This offer also extends to the 40 page filelist of all the files. Just
be aware that it is almost 300K in size.
