Rosemary is weird stuff. Out here -- Richmond, VA -- no matter what variety
I get, if I put it in a pot it just dies. However, when I decided in
desperation to plant it in the nastiest, driest clay soil, it survived. I
have several zone-specific varieties that have been going now for many
years -- though they aren't very big, they do flower every year. I really
think rosemary thrives on neglect.
