Now, I don't post a lot to this list often but I read everything that goes
on and for once am moved to contribute. A very special effort was produced
this last month, that I for one, was very impressed about and I hope I can
relay the impact to you in words.

We the Canton of Krae Glas (who soon hope to be a Shire on our own), were
please this past weekend to host the 12th Night Coronation of the 4th King
and Queen of Lochac, this after assisting Stormhold four weeks previous in
the investiture of a new Baron and Baroness. The teams for both events
included many of the same people, but none as important as the Feast Steward
for both, her Excellency Baroness Gwir verch Madog.

Her Excellency is a very amasing. She did the feast for the William Marshall
Tourney and Baronial Change over the first weekend in December (where she
was stepping down as Baroness) complete with an ephagie of William

covering yummy treats,

of them.

But this weekend, she amazed us all. She managed (in 30C+ degree heat) to
produce lunch and a three remove feast, each remove with its own subtleties.

The first remove was the Art of War and she depicted the combat between the
outgoing Sir Alaric and incoming Sir AEdward (they never really fought, but,
well you will see) at the following address:

on their new majesties faces

The second remove was the Art of Peace and a large tree of peace was brought
in covered in hearts and walnut shells filled with lovely special tokens of
love, jewels, perfumes, candles, etc and candy hearts. (sorry no picture).

The third remove was taken from the cantons motto "A sense of Purpose". The
Canton uses period porpoises as standards. I was unable to photos as it when
it was presented as it was swamped and very dark, however there are photos
of its construction.

fountain contained mulled wine and was flowing into a lovely silver bowl.

Besides these lovely works of art, each remove was artistically arranged
with flowers and other details like little green worms coming out of the
baked apples

handmade serving trays

http://www.sca.org.au/krae_glas/gallery/Pre-Prep-Efforts/DSCN0763. All
dishes when out on time, all the meats where good, and I have had only one
complaint, "you mean there is still 2 more removes to come?"

and if this is not enough, her kitchen staff love her and are happy and
return time after time to help out

All recipes are researched, redacted and kitchen tested before each feast.
She is truely an inspiration to all and I personally would like to thank
Baroness Gwir for not only producing two major feast in a month, but for
creating a wonderful environment for many new and veteran kitchen mice. I
salute a job well done.
