After our discussion on Food Movies a couple of weeks ago, I went about
finding a few I hadn't seen. I've now watched "Mostly Martha", which I
enjoyed very much. I've got "Babette's Feast" here now, but haven't watched
it yet. I had to go to a video store that specialized in foreign films to
get these. Today while I was there finally getting B.F., (it had been out
for over a month), I was telling the fellow there why I was interested in
these particular movies, and the list we had started, identifying a new
genre. I told him I would print out the list and bring it in so he could
consider creating a "Movies for Cooks" section.
So, I came home and started constructing a master list from the various
emails I'd saved, then I delved into the SCA Cook's Archives. I now have 5
PAGES of movie titles and descriptions! I am stunned! One movie that was
mentioned but no one followed up on with a review was "Woman On Top". I
wondered if anyone had seen it and what they thought.
I will refine the list a bit and then I can make it available to Stephan for
the Florilegium (I went there first, but got no hits to my search! - GASP!),
or I can send it on to those interested.
