Do you have the new book by Tony Bourdain? Evidently it's a mystery
centering around the underworld and restaurants in New York.
If you haven't read any of his books, "A Cook's Tour" or "Kitchen
Confidential"
you should. They are great reads.

In trying to search for the title of his new fiction book, I found this
article by him about shooting his Food TV show.
http://egullet.com/?pg=ARTICLE-bourdainidentity . Pretty good reading.

And from this report:
http://www.almanacnews.com/morgue/2003/2003_06_04.kitchen.html

"Mr. Bourdain, best known as the author of "Kitchen Confidential," the
behind-the-scenes tale of the restaurant industry, was in Menlo Park to
promote his third novel, "The Bobby Gold Stories" (Bloomsbury, $19.95).

In 12 segments, "The Bobby Gold Stories" explores the restaurant underworld
to tell the story of an ex-con night club bouncer and a hard-luck saute
cook. "It's a love story," quips Mr. Bourdain.

"There's a considerable overlap between professional gangsters and cooks --
it's a world I know about," he adds.
He also wrote two unsuccessful crime novels -- "Bone in the Throat" and
"Gone Bamboo" -- in the mid-1990s, which have been published since he became
a best-selling author. "
