So, how do you deal with the hot weather? I can deal with the cold
weather by adding more layers, although there have been Pennsics where
I never used my cloak. But get real uncomfortable in hot weather. It's
not like I can spend all of my time in the period swimming hole.
I've started switching to using linen for my outer clothing layers
because it breathes so much better. The heat is also one reason I moved
off the Serrengetti (where even the 9am sun can turn a nylon tent into
an oven) down to the lake, even though it is further from most classes.
You can actually feel the temperature cool as you walk down the hill
from the Serrengetti.
I have my red, folding broad-brimmed hat, which some of you have seen
to help keep the sun off of my head.
So, any other suggestions? I liked last Pennsic because it didn't have
that many really hot days.
Stefan
