It's nice they gave you the academic's contact info.  We just had a class
taught at our meeting about research and documentation, and she made the
point about not being afraid to contact academics in the field you are
studying, they will probably be thrilled to find someone interested in their
particular interests.  She also said she never mentions the SCA, at least
not at first...
