Wow!  Thank you for letting me know.  This
morning, while in the shower, I came up with
another version of this, but a tad more SCA
political and correcting a missed rhyme.  I have
marked the changes with "<<<<change".  But I
like both versions.

Huette

On a dark medieval highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of mulled cyder
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dim
