I have use the basic syrup, slightly sweeter and thickened, as a dip for 
shortbread cookies.  It wasa a soltletie where I had made a plate and chalice of 
marzipan, then made the syrup using dreid raspberries crushed into a powder and 
spices.   I got rave reviews on the flavor and texture.
