Thanks for that; we know better than to use pressure-treated wood for this, but never thought to check for fungus or mold on the fallen wood we picked up.  We used large twigs/small branches which had been blown out of the trees in my yard recently.  Meat tasted pretty good yesterday, by the way.

I hope everyone knows that "pressure treated" types of  
wood MUST NOT be used for anything as they contain  
pesticides and/or arsenic.   

In addition, I expect that some deadfall wood contains  
fungus and is likely to affect the taste of the meat.
