I am curious -- my mother has a recipe for a "Fruit Bars" which is a spiced
bar cookie topped with fruitcake mix. She used to make them for cookie
plates at Christmas, and my brothers and I would get to eat all the
trimmed-off edges. I have never encountered anything like them so I am
wondering if perhaps this is something similar?
