Mistress Renata Kestryl of Highwynds, despite her work in the area of
confectionary [Sugarplums article in the Florilegium, &c.] does not care
for sweets. For her birthday this year, my lord husband made a great
Torta Rustica instead of a customary Birthday Cake for her natal day;
 bread stuffed with cheese, ham, bacon and tomatoes. Renata was touched
and delighted when the candles were lit on a cake made just for her
personal preferences!

If you don't mind, I may snitch the meatloaf idea for her next year. I
really dig the "cream cheese frosting" concept.
