Let me start by suggesting that slamming someone's religion is probably not
a good thing to do, particularly if you can't be bothered to attempt to
spell what you're slamming properly.

Having said that, cannabalism is often an accusation by one group against
another- the Christians during the Inquisition accused Jews and Witches of
the practice, that being, in most peoples minds, the most evil thing that
people could do. They also "salted" these imaginary feasts by having them
consist of unbaptized children, who thus would not even get a chance to go
to Heaven (an image running in my mind of thousands of unshriven, screaming
babies in purgatory, and lines of Purgatory attendants attempting to change
their thousands of diapers). None of this has much to to with Christianity,
but certainly has a lot to say about human nature and the human need to
acquire power by pretending other humans are inferior.

The Eucharist is not simply a Christian phenomenon, either- The Romans and
Greeks had their gods who were dismembered and eaten by worshippers-
Dionysius comes readily to mind, as do many other less-known myths, where a
god was torn apart and consumed by his followers. As far as I can tell, it's
a natural progression through the maturing of a people- food gives strength,
eating special foods give special strength, special foods give the strength
of the eaten to the eater (that's where you have people eating lion's hearts
and so forth, for courage), the modern, primitive cannibals who eat their
enemies, doing so, in hopes of acquiring their enemy's prowess, and, as you
become more modern, and civilization makes eating real people a taboo, you
get symbolic cannibalism of various sorts, where instead of partaking of
earthly strength, you eat special foods in order to acquire Godhood.

Really makes the phrase, "You are what you eat" come into prominence ;-)

As far as actual cannibalism, you have instances ranging from some of the
psychos who kill and eat people as part of working out their abnormal
psychology, to people like the Donner party or the plane wreck survivors in
South America eating human flesh because it's the only way to survive.

But, please keep in mind that most tales of cannibalism are tales told by
insecure people in order to attempt to prove their "superiority".

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it is probably not a
cat.
