I have on the table at all time a pepper grinder filled with a mixture of
grains and cubeb.

I love grinding cubebs with salt and garlic in my mortar then
coating a steak with the mixture and broiling.

Man, I'm totally out of my period spices. I need cubebs,
Grains of Paradise, long pepper and galangale. And that's
just for mundane cooking. I haven't done anything
period (other than a pear and ricotta tart) in a long time.
