[Sca-cooks] Aniticipated spice price rise

Samrah is probably right. I would not be surprised to walk into my favorite
Indian grocery and find the spice bags with higher price tags, even though I
know they've been sitting there for weeks (or months).

But maybe not. When the earthquakes hit India last year or the year before,
I didn't notice an increase.

We'll have to wait and see. Personally, I have enough spices to last me a
good while.

Special note to Phlip (sorry about the use of bandwidth):

please contact me off-list at rtanhil at fast.net. I have some of your spices
and I would like to mail them to you.

(More than a bit like gas prices.) I don't want to cause any sort of panic
on the list, but when you are purchasing your spices, it would be a good
time to pick up an extra one of things you use a lot. Don't go out and
purchase more than you could ever use, just an extra bag, jar or whatever.
We all like working with really fresh stuff, but it is probable that all
spice prices will rise, not only those grown in the affected region.
