Come on Phlip, do you really need a list? Canada, for one, has sent help,
firemen, and supplies, and we sure as hell do send firefighting planes every
time some wacko decides to set California on fire (every other year or so);
now, there are dozens of country who contributed to the post 9/11 war on
terror effort, including Malaysia, badly hit by the tsunami, who had two
citizens executed by extremists in Iraq.

(And on a side note, disagreement with specific policies does not mean lack
of sympathy with the victims of terrorism)

Also, there are differences between hurricanes in Florida, a highly
developped region with the internal infrastructure solid enough to sustain
such a hit, and a tsunami that leaves 145,000 dead, many more tens of
thousands injured or disappeared, and nearly 5 millions homeless (how many
people in Connecticut again?), and a very clear potential for international
crisis in an underdeveloped (the reasons for which could be the subject of
many more useless rants, so let's not go there) part of the world.

> off in Connecticut- you makes your choices, and you pays your prices.

Would you readily accept the choice of all those people if they suddenly all
decided to move in Connecticut as well?
(this is a rhetorical question, of course)

Petru

P.S. I don't wish to pursue this rant on list; y'all can contact me off-list
if you feel the need to do so.
