Truth be told, I have never encountered an electric knife which I feel is worth the expense.  I
believe they are way too clumsy, lack the fine control offered by a nice slicer, and almost always
chew up the food, rather than slice it.  And, as you have said, they are the most uncomfortable of
tools to use to slice meats.  If I were to design one, it would have an offset blade, or at least
one which came out at an angle from the handle, and no complex collection of buttons and levers to
push and hold while slicing (on and off is good enough, don't you think??).

Give me a nice Scimitar or Butcher's Knife, with a keen edge, any day.
