hate electric knives (and scissors).  my hands aren't made 
for 'em.

i am blessed with an electric slicer (like the deli, only 
smaller) that was given to me by a co-worker five years 
ago.  she had no use for it and when she found out i was 
doing brisket for 300.... ;)

this year, i processed 100 lbs of beef and 100 lbs of pork 
for stew by hand with a regular knife all on my lonesome. 
 almost a month later, most of the feeling is back in my 
fingertips!

if you do a lot of slicing, i would suggest scouring the 
used restaurant supply stores for one.
