A Bialy is similar to a bagel in that both items use a rather firm dough.  The Bialy differs from
the bagel in *at least* the following areas:

A bialy does not have a hole in the center.  Rather, it has a depression in the center which is
usually filled with a savory mixture of onions, or, as is mentioned on one of the websites found
by Google, poppyseeds or ground nuts.

A bialy is not boiled like a bagel before baking, so it has a crispier crust and lighter texture.
