I believe you can find some recommendations and comments on particular

Rather than brand, your biggest choice is going to be between the units 
are meant to sit on top of a gas stovetop or other heat source and 
those that have a heating element built in. The later are probably more 
versatile since they could also be used on a camp stove or fire, but it 
may be harder to control the temperature with them.

Also, you will probably have a choice between a non-stick surface and a 
regular metal surface.

My two units are the ones with built in electric heating units. The 
second one I haven't used yet. The first one's only problem is that the 
plastic legs on it aren't very sturdy and have broken off. So, I have 
to set the front on something to make it level. Also, the 'C' clips on 
the hinges have somehow come loose and disappeared, so the hinges want 
to come apart. Something to put on my 'to fix' list. If you want the 
brand names of these two, I will go look them.
