I find anything called 'anchovette' hard to imagine, but - if you like 
anchovies, have you tried Philippine bagoong balayam? If nuoc mam is our 
version classy garum, bagoong balayam is the cheap allec of our day. I love 
using it to scare my fellow early perioders (though it is actually quite good 
if used in moderation)
