Thank you everyone for your comments on this SCA toasting. I had no 
idea that these were pre-arranged. Much less that there was quite a 
protocol of rank involved. I'm unlikely to ever meet these protocol 
requirements and if I ever overcome my "fear of not knowing what to 
say", I could have really embarrassed myself if I stood to give an 
impromptu toast and found out I was interfering with someone's 
pre-arranged toasting.

(And yes, this thread will either find itself into the p-toasting-msg 
file in the Florilegium or into a renamed/new file, so that perhaps 
others may be forewarned about these traditions.)
