Hm... I haven't seen it before the 12th century. GofP are an African 
import. Would a different combination of spices work?

Rose water is one of those wierdnesses. I don't think we see it at that 
time, I'm seeing it coming back into Europe with the Arabic 
manuscripts-- but I may well be wrong. Does anyone know?
