which reminds me of the time when the horse was cribbing 
(chewing the wood) on the back door.  tried chili sauce, 
tried worchestershire sauce, tried vinegar.

remembering my first childhood taste of vanilla extract 
straigh, i said, "honey, let's try vanilla!"

he laughed.  i rubbed it on the doorframe.  horse stopped 
chewing.

oh, the wonders you can find in the kitchen.  just 
educated a co-worker on the joys of baking soda for 
settling the stomach.  i thought everyone knew that!
