Perhaps this file in the FOOD-MEATS section of the Florilegium might be
of use to you:
meat-pies-msg (144K) 4/20/05 Period meat pies. Recipes.

and this one in the FOOD section has some more general info on period
pies and making pies.
pies-msg (57K) 7/26/02 Period pie crusts, meat and fruit pies.

Here are a few files in the FOOD-UTENSILS section:
aquamaniles-msg (12K) 5/25/02 Fancy period jugs to hold water for
washing.
forks-msg (25K) 3/26/05 Period forks. history and use in
Europe.
nefs-msg (24K) 3/21/05 Richly decorated medieval salt cellars.
p-tableware-msg (60K) 3/25/05 Period tableware. Period references
spoons-msg (17K) 12/17/01 Period spoons. References.
Construction.
utensils-msg (200K) 3/26/05 Utensils, plates, trenchers, cast iron
pots.

You mentioned possibly making your own tableware, so perhaps this file
in the CRAFTS section might be of interest. However, before using and
washing any horn utensils, I would highly recommend you read the file
on caring for horn utensils, lest you destroy what you put all that
effort into making.
