I'm sure on the periodness of rock candy, it's something that Jadwiga had suggested I should try with my flovored sugars, as I'm experimenting how it they could have been used medicinally in period...a sickly kid may be more likely to suck on a hardened candy tpe substance than swallow granules or chunks of cone sugar. -Ardenia
