Well, yes, kinda sorta, if you mean pork cooked until there is no flavor left, then pulled apart and packed along with a lot of fat into an airtight container with lard poured on top to seal.  I think, somewhere, in the corpus I have seen such a recipe for preserving meat, now if I could just remember where ... Apicius perhaps?
