Back in 2000-2001, there were articles in the Times and other places about
researchers at Princeton regarding Gutenberg and the invention of
movable type. There's a lot more to it than the original articles suggested.

The history of printing, typography, and early printed books (as well as
the bibliography of same)
have lost their appeal over the years as librarians and archivists have
moved more
into the information sciences. Most new librarians these days never
take a course in the
history of the book; they take courses in the history of the internet...
