You could use Merratic Acid in a Dilute form "2 to 1" and a bristle
brush.Let stand for 30 min.or more if needed. This works real well.We have sevarel that are being worked on for pennsic.Wear rubber gloves and eye protection.When metal bumps are gone,rinse with water and baking soda.A plastic scraper would be handy.    Chirhart
