[Sca-cooks] OOP - bake sale advice

some of us in al-barran are sponsoring some bake sales. 
  a friend's cancer has relapsed, and we are trying to 
help them with some of the every day bills that 
hospitalization, treatment, travel, et al can bring about.

can anyone recommend some sure fire hits and things to 
avoid for bake sales?  i have never been involved in one 
before, other than to buy.
