First of all, as this is an international list, I want to mention the
dual meaning of "apple cider". In the United States, "cider" means
unfiltered apple juice -- the cloudy, non-alcoholic product of pressing
apples in a mill. In Britain, and other parts of the world, "cider"
means fermented apple juice -- an alcoholic drink generally called "hard
cider" in the U.S.
Hard cider is certainly period. I don't know if sweet (non-alcoholic)
cider is period.
