That actually happened in my Kingdom, several years ago (like maybe
10 -- we've _almost_ recovered from that). Okay, this clarification
makes me feel somewhat better about all this.
It's just that, at various times, rapier bans notwithstanding, I've
experienced Bardic Championships settled by Crowns who attended only
the finals, and then, apparently, made their decision on the strength
of certain of the candidates'... um... physical attributes in the
eyes of the male half of the Crown, another Crown who suggested that
period food be balanced with plenty of non-period options since
period food is generally bad (not my Kingdom!), and let's just say
I'm becoming increasingly touchy whenever I encounter a Crown who
doesn't seem to be getting into the proper spirit of the game.
Well, at least that's one thing that will never be said about our
current King and Queen, here ;-).
