This isn't it.  Ronald Evergreen's The Gentry starts off (IIRC), "The 
Gentry, the Gentry, I sing of the Gentry, the SCA noblesse oblige, with all 
of our antics and petty pedantics, we're fodder for songs like these..."  It 
is a rather raucous and occasionally embarassing introduction to some of the 
key figures in Ansteorra.
