Some sort of savory cake is what occurred to me also, when reading  
Kiri's comments.

However, what happened to the oysters? I'm thinking of corn bread,  
although that might over power the crab.

Somehow though, I don't think the bundt cake contest organizers are  
likely to go for savory cakes.

Anne-Marie, when you work out the recipe please post it or send it to  
me.

hmm. I have this idea of a savory batter cake with crab, green onion
and maybe some roasted red
peppers in it....serve warm with a buerre blanc sauce....
