yes'm.  originally from maryland, we oiled the pan with 
the bacon grease we, yes, kept in a coffee can (in the 
fridge, tho).  mom and dad went through the depression 
when young so i learned to get every inch of use out of 
anything.

eventually i got frisky and added some leftover bacon.

alas, now i must cook the bacon for the cornbread because 
there is no such thing as 'leftover' bacon around my 
husband.  8)
