Malachi McCormick, who is a wonderful semi-lunatic who used to run a  
hand-lettered, hand-bound book publishing company on Staten Island,  
and who is also the author of some well-received Irish cookbooks,  
writes somewhere about the fun in his childhood outside Cork in the  
'50's, bringing baskets of "baby lettuce" to English tourists for a  
lovely, fresh salad. He called his wild sorrel sourgrass... ;-)
