Actually, it usually has to do more with your flight plans rather than 
you.  I wondered myself when I got checked both ways a couple of years 
back.  It turned out that the reason was that I had an "open jaws" 
flight...flew out of National in DC to Florida, then back from Florida 
to Pittsburg (on my way to Pennsic).  I also got checked out thoroughly 
a year ago when I flew to Michigan...I had my coronet in my carry-on and 
the screeners were concerned about this metal object with sharp 
points...despite the little balls on the end of each point!  I 
personally think they were just curious...wondered what that "thing" was!

But yes, we were on that list...but I had been told that they decided 
that we are a bunch of harmless royalists!
